Investment recommendations

An investment recommendation means information recommending or suggesting an investment strategy, explicitly or implicitly, concerning one or several financial instruments or the issuers, including any opinion as to the present or future value or price of such instruments, intended for distribution channels or for the public.

Transparency requirements

To prevent a situation in which investors are misled, investment recommendations must meet a number of transparency requirements.

The information that has to be provided on the basis of these transparency requirements allows investors to assess the status or credibility of an investment recommendation, the interests the producers and publisher of the recommendations hold and whether the recommendations are presented objectively. An investor can then decide for himself how much value he wishes to attach to an investment recommendation.

In the brochure ‘Investment Recommendations’ you will find detailed information on the regulation that is applicable to investment recommendations.
