PostNL increases outlook for results 2013
The Hague, 31 May 2013 – PostNL expects underlying cash operating income of €50 - €90 million in 2013 (earlier range: €20 - €60 million).
The reasons to increase the outlook are the tariff increases which will be implemented by PostNL as of 1 August 2013 and expected better operational results in all segments. The tariff increases are, together with rigorous cost savings, necessary to compensate for the expected volume decline of 8-10% and the losses resulting from the universal service obligation. The impact is visible in the development of the margin in the segment Mail in the Netherlands. The outlook for the margin in the segment Mail in the Netherlands improves to -1% to 1% (earlier range: -2% to 0%).
