Titel High-Water Reaches SMARTRAC Production Facilities in Thailand
Bericht Amsterdam, October 14, 2011 – SMARTRAC N.V., a leading developer, manufacturer, and supplier of RFID transponders, announced that despite the preventive measures which had been taken over the last days to protect the production location against the current high-water in Thailand, water streamed into the production facilities in the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya in the course of last night. The water ingress is the result of a breach in one of the dikes which were established around the industrial park. In total, the water level at the company’s production facilities is lower than in the surrounding areas. Production equipment and facilities had been evacuated in the course of last week as part of the company’s contingency plans. Currently, the extent of damage cannot be forecast. SMARTRAC maintains insurance coverage for damages on buildings, machinery, and business interruption in Thailand.
