Today Kandia N.V. sold its 93.32% participation in the Romanian company Kandia-Excelent to the world’s largest confectionery manufacturer Cadbury Schweppes. The Bucharest-quoted company was acquired 10 years ago by Kandia N.V. (formerly Fulcrum I. equity N.V.), a private equity holding group managed by Meinl Bank. Starting with an investment of around EUR 17 million in the acquisition and modernisation of the production facilities, Kandia N.V. developed Kandia-Excelent to the leading confectionery and sweets company of Romania with a today’s market capitalization of about EUR 120 mn.
