Enterprise Terminal Emulator Provides
Up to 83% Cost Savings
ATLANTA –- 9 October 2006 – Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, announced general availability of Version 4.0 of its BlueZone terminal emulator.
“BlueZone 4.0 is the newest release of our enterprise terminal emulation solution that is being offered at less than half of competitors’ prices,” said Don Addington, CEO and president of Seagull Software. “Our customers have achieved fantastic cost savings by switching from other emulators to Seagull Software’s BlueZone solution.”
BlueZone 4.0 is a faster, thinner terminal emulator for mainframes, System i5 and UNIX applications. Each BlueZone license includes support for 3270, 5250, VT and Secure FTP. The product is MicroSoft Windows XP Gold certified. Many BlueZone users have switched from Attachmate EXTRA! and Reflection, IBM Personal Communications, NetManage Rumba and Hummingbird Host Explorer.
New features in BlueZone 4.0 include:
• Internationalization of the emulator, which now includes German, French, Dutch and Japanese language versions
• User interface re-designed to Windows XP standards
• New “Web-to-host” wizard
• Easily replace existing emulators
• Configure a session while on the Web server
• Built-in Web server
