SPYKER TRADING UPDATE FIRST QUARTER 2006
Zeewolde, the Netherlands, 28 April 2006 – Spyker Cars N.V, manufacturer of high-quality
sports cars, today announced the trading update for the first quarter of 2006. Spyker Cars is
listed on Eurolist by Euronext Amsterdam.
• 24 cars were produced and delivered by 30 March 2006 (1st quarter 2005: 12 cars produced. By 31 December 2005, 48 cars were produced and delivered. Increase of 100% cars in this first quarter of 2006 compared to the first quarter, 2005).
• Total order backlog increased from 191 as per 31 December 2005 (which consisted of 161 C models and 30 Spykers D12 Peking-to-Paris) to 286 orders per 31 March 2006 (increase of 95 cars in this first quarter of 2006). This number consists of 166 C models and 120 orders for the new Spyker D12 Peking-to-Paris which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on 28 February 2006. The order intake for C models was 30 cars in the first quarter of 2006.
• Company operationally cash flow positive as from the first quarter, 2006.
• The company expects to produce more than 100 cars in 2006, doubling its 2005 production output.
• On 28 February 2006 the world première of the Spyker D12 Peking-to-Paris took place which marked the introduction of a second product line for Spyker. It is the company’s first four-wheel drive, four-door, four-seater luxury Super Sports Utility Vehicle (SSUV). The SSUV will bridge the gap between high powered SUV’s and the super sports cars. Spyker sees high potential in this new market segment. Subsequently the North American debut of the D12 Peking-to-Paris took place on 12 April 2006 during the New York International Auto Show.
• Staff increased to 105 employees.
• Spyker participated during the following key events: Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006; Amelia Island Concourse d’Elegance and the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006.
• Spyker Squadron participated with a two car line-up in the 12 Hours of Sebring (an American Le Man
