MDp Users Seek Replacement as IBM Withdraws Support for MDp
ATLANTA – March 20, 2006 – Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, today announced that LegaSuite for CICS supports a strategic migration path for customers using IBM’s Message Driven processor (MDp) (formerly marketed by Early, Cloud & Company). Customers can replace MDp with LegaSuite without any changes to the mainframe applications. LegaSuite also offers the ability to replace MDp with no changes to the client applications that connect to MDp.
“Because IBM has announced withdrawal of support for MDp, customers are looking for replacements” commented Andre den Haan, Vice President of Product Strategy for Seagull Software. “LegaSuite for CICS helps customers minimize the cost, risk and disruption of migration to a supported solution, and they get SOA compliance as a bonus.”
The integration modules of LegaSuite for CICS feature many of the inherent strengths of MDp and leverage core CICS functionality to give customers all the capabilities of MDp and more – including faster performance and SOA standards-based integration.
