Titel 30 million euro order for environment friendly UK BioSolids programme
Bericht Important contribution to environment friendly enrichment and agricultural use of sludge in the UK Gouda – Imtech (technical services provider in Europe), working in an equal Joint Venture with Galliford Try (called GTM, Galliford Try Meica), have been selected as partner by Anglian Water Services (AWS) to deliver an important part of a 100 million euro Bio Solids programme. The contract has been awarded to Meica Process, a subsidiary of Imtech UK. The maximum predicted contract value for Imtech is 30 million euro up to the end of 2009. AWS is one of the regional water and wastewater providers in the UK, serving the East Anglian region to the North and East of London. The BioSolids programme consists of environment friendly treatment, cleaning and enrichment of sludge, which is then provided as BioSolids for the agricultural industry. This is a key part of the AWS strategy to replace existing sludge treatment plants with thermal pre treatment, anaerobic digestion and possibly CHP. AWS provides up to 150,000 tonnes of BioSolids every year for the agricultural industry. The programme consists of six different projects. These projects together are the largest and most complex BioSolids projects in AWS’s programme and are among the largest in the UK. GTM is one of two Contractor Partners appointed to deliver the Programme, which runs to the end of 2009. The other partner is M.J. Gleeson. In addition several other specialist partners and client teams will form part of the fully integrated team delivering the programme. Imtech (Meica) will concentrate on technological solutions for engineering, piping, environmental and process technology. GTM were appointed because of their ability to provide all elements of the programme including appraisal, feasibility, design, construction, commissioning and performance optimisation of the plants. The award is recognition of the strong position of Imtech (Meica Process) in the UK water industry. Further information Mark Salom
